Dit zijn alle winnaars van de Grammy Awards
De prijzenkast van de Amerikaanse superster Beyoncé telt sinds zondag 28 Grammy Awards en dat is een record. De zangeres is nu de vrouwelijke artiest met de meeste Grammy’s op haar naam.
De 39-jarige Beyoncé kreeg zondag een Grammy in de categorie Beste R&B-uitvoering voor het nummer “Black Parade”, de award voor Beste Muziekvideo voor de clip van “Brown Skin Girl”, en voor Beste Rapnummer en Beste Rap-uitvoering. Beyoncé heeft nu evenveel Grammy’s als Quincy Jones en moet alleen nog dirigent Georg Solti voor zich dulden; de in 1997 overleden Hongaar won in totaal 31 Grammy’s.
Het album Folklore van Taylor Swift werd verkozen tot beste plaat van het jaar. Daarmee is ze de eerste vrouw die deze prijs drie keer heeft gewonnen. De prijs wordt vaak gezien als de meest prestigieuze van de Grammy Awards. Taylor was genomineerd voor zes Grammy’s, maar greep in de andere categorieën naast de prijzen.
Megan Thee Stallion beste nieuwkomer
Rapper Megan Thee Stallion mocht de Grammy voor beste nieuwe artiest in ontvangst nemen, ook een van de meer prestigieuze prijzen. Eerder op de dag werd al bekend dat de 26-jarige ook in de prijzen was gevallen voor haar rapwerk op de remix die ze met Beyoncé maakte van haar hit Savage.
De award voor beste nieuwe artiest is een van de vier categorieën waarin muzikanten uit alle genres het tegen elkaar opnemen. Dat geldt ook voor de Album of the Year, Song of the Year en Record of the Year. De overige Grammy’s - er worden er in totaal ieder jaar ruim tachtig uitgereikt - wordt verdeeld over genres als Pop, Rock, Country, R&B en Gospel.
